Operations Research Completed

Alibaba Cross-border E-commerce and Global Operations

Comparing procurement, supplier, and logistics structures across B2B platforms to identify digital supply-chain improvements.

Context
Business management course group project
Role
Core member · Platform comparison and report writing
Scope
Alibaba.com, Europages, and TradeIndia

The project compares B2B cross-border platforms including Alibaba.com, Europages, and TradeIndia, examining how functionality, procurement cost, and supplier resources affect sourcing for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The research focuses on logistics efficiency, fragmented supplier management, and international transaction processes, then proposes directions for digital supply-chain improvement in the context of international trade rules.

As a core team member, I contributed to case research, platform benchmarking, and report writing. The project showed that platform competition is not only about front-end traffic and assortment. It is also shaped by supplier networks, fulfilment certainty, and the ability to coordinate cross-border processes.

Boundary

This is a public-information course case and does not represent an internal operating assessment of Alibaba or the comparison platforms.
